Philip Horn, Executive Director of Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, recently contacted
our M-AD Grants Chairman, Joe Stangl, and indicated that the Pennsylvania
Council on the Arts is at risk of losing its funding in the upcoming
Pennsylvania budget process. As we have been the recipients of over $25,000 of
grant money to the District since 2006, Phil wanted those of us in the
Mid-Atlantic District, and in Pennsylvania, in particular, to be aware of this
issue in case any of our Pennsylvania chapters and/or members wanted to contact
their state representatives and senators about this issue. This might also be an
opportunity for chapters in the PA area to express their concerns by attending
and/or singing at the rally next Tuesday, July 14, at 11AM at the state capitol
building in Harrisburg. Please contact Jenny Hershour at 717-234-0959 or
jlh@citizensfortheartsinpa.org for further details.
Please
forward this to your friends, family members, co-workers,
etc. The more people we have at the rally, the greater
impact we will make on the Pennsylvania General
Assembly!
